Data Discovery: Text Ribbon

The Text tab provides end users with the key functions most often used to add, edit and format text (and dynamic text) into analytic views.

The Text Tab becomes active when a Text Box component is present in the report canvas.

Clipboard

Provides standard clipboard functions to copy/cut/paste text.

Font

Provides standard text formatting such as font style, bold, italic, color, size, etc.

Paragraph

Provides standard paragraph formatting such as alignment, bulleted lists, numbered lists, etc..

NOTE: For right-to-left languages such as Hebrew and Arabic, the text box provides right-to-left support. Use the Right-to-Left command in the Data Discovery: Report Tab to change the text direction.

Styles

Provides standard style formats including Header 1, Heading 2, Heading 3, Heading 4 and Normal. These styles inherit their attributes from the current Report Theme.

NOTE: Whenever possible, the use of styles is preferred over free format. The use of styles helps to unify design and allows you to import your text into Story Boarding and Publication with the same styles.

Dynamic Text

Dynamic Text

Opens the Dynamic Text Wizard for creating a dynamic text object.

Show Highlights

Turns on/off the highlighting of dynamic text objects within the text box component.
